Oh, Anthony Wong, who are you kidding? You can act (and dress) like a Swiss boyscout but you're not fooling anyone. Once a deranged murderous psychopath, always a deranged murderous psychopath.

Long story short, the direction ruins this movie.
Imagine the amazing Web of Deception but instead of being directed by David Chung (a great director) and stealth-directed by Tsui Hark for the splendid Hide N' Seek scenes (obviously), it's made by a random dude who has no idea what he's doing. But Cat III.
It's a shame because I thought the actors were really committing to their roles, and I usually like house invasion movies. Lots of interesting shots too, the cinematography was good. Veronica Yip played her part really well, that must not have been easy to play, faking being blind and all, especially during rougher scenes. Fuck the score though.
So, pretty much anything that involved the director…

Review by Gregor Kreyca ★★ 2
Veronica Yip is cute and Anthony Wong makes for a great psycho, as always. But the film unfortunately isn’t very cinematic. This looks and feels like a goddamn Lifetime movie. The same goes for the lackluster score. But the biggest problem here is, that the whole thing is just way to restrained for what it wants to be.
The whole set-up screams Cat III. But while much here is threatened or implied, the filmmakers lacked both balls and imagination. Honestly, when Anthony Wong stars in a Home-invasion Thriller I want full on exploitation madness. But here it's just threats and talking, threats and talking... It gets a little better towards the end, but at that time it’s too little too late. This movie needed to be sleazy, nasty and unhinged as fuck. Instead we get a Marx Brothers like shower scene. Amusing, but ultimately just way too tame, like the whole movie.

A blind woman tells her boyfriend she's seeing someone. It's either really terrible news or really great news.
People say this is the Hong Kong version of Wait Until Dark. I've never seen that movie but in his own comic home alone approach, this version stands on his own.

"Why did you fuck my wife?"
A woman loses her sight for three days because of some operation she got and she's surprisingly chill about it (how can she be so chill with it, I don't know, my anxiety would go to crazy levels). She even wears Audrey Hepburn sunglasses, in case it wasn't clear that this is a Wait Until Dark CAT III rip-off.
Her asshole husband, a doctor, is also pretty chill about it - he's even taunting and pranking her, the motherfucker. Then he leaves for a business trip for the exact amount of time it would take her to recover her eyesight. Powerful storytelling and no contrivances, whew!
Oh, and they're pretty well off, too. You…

Cartoonish but still entertaining.

Really effective CAT III thriller with Anthony Wong bringing a typical tour de force performance. A one house, two character movie and I was never bored, job well done.

Review by David Sodergren ★★½
Lightweight Cat III home invasion thriller 3 Days of a Blind Girl is anchored by good performances from Veronica Yip and Anthony Wong, who for some reason is dressed like he just got off the bus from the Swiss Alps.
Pity director Wing-Chiu Chan lacks the commitment and unhinged imagination of someone like Billy Tang or Herman Yau.

We've seen variations on "blind girl under siege" more than a few times, and this Cat IIb shocker has a mostly amateur look, but it manages to be inventive when it counts and is surely the "sleaziest" take on the subject.
