If you guys down here are on the sound side and relatively close to Hatteras Village, take a peek at the Ocraco*ke Fireworks tonight. We watched them last year as we have a straight view to Ocraco*ke and they are easy enough to see from our second deck. I mean...everything is flat as a pancake down here. Have a nice night! |

Burgers on the grill, a Pina Colada (I haven't had one of these in ages) and my star basket! Nice night and no humidity. Ezbuckwheat was correct on his forecast! |

I cringe when they talk about fireworks at Ocraco*ke. We watched from hatteras in 2009 as a Giant towering cloud and a huge boom came from Ocraco*ke. ( I actually missed the boom but the kids heard it) but we all saw the cloud from soundside Frisco Within a few minutes you heard sirens from all over Hatteras. The entire fireworks display for the island went up in the truck on the south ferry landing on Ocraco*ke and killed 4 people. They all were from the same church on Goldsboro NC and had been contracted by the fireworks company to make some money. |

That is terrible, Alexy. I faintly remember reading about that. Last night, I could hear the booms easier than seeing the lights. |

Pina Colada (I haven't had one of these in ages) Coco Lopez does make them extra creamy! I found this back home. I was looking for the old can it used to come in called Coco De Lopez I used to buy many years ago, but this is what the stores sell now. At least the stores that I visit. Happy almost fourth to you, too!! |

Pina Colada (I haven't had one of these in ages) Yup, tried that (Waves Deli sells it)...I did like how much easier it was to open/use/store vs can....it just didn't "do" it for me taste wise...I mean it was good....just not "good" like I remember in the '70's. Which...thinking out loud...was prob a good idea... |

Pina Colada (I haven't had one of these in ages) You're right there! The kind of drink really to make to celebrate the fourth at the beach. Few and far between for sure. And I brought down little drink umbrellas and forgot to put them in for the celebratory effect...... |
